What is The Great Drum Rake Off?
The Great Drum Rake Off is a free gardening competition! We invite our customers in the local area (AB postcodes) to submit photographs of their gardens to us. Submissions will be made through our website using a form that will become available during the entry period. Our Plant Experts will review entries and score the gardens independently, with the highest scoring gardens being taken through to the semi-final vote. The semi-final vote is done on our Facebook page, allowing our customers to vote on their favourite gardens through liking and sharing. The gardens with the highest interaction get through to the final, where our Plant Team will visit each garden and decide on the winners.
What Are The Requirements?
Your postcode must begin with AB to ensure entries are only in the local area, and photos of your garden must have been taken during the entry period. These will be used on our social media and website; we will ask your permission before posting. We have two garden categories:
Category 1 | Gardens up to around 200 square meters*. For example, window planters up to a back garden in a suburb. |
|
|
Category 2 | Gardens above 200 square meters* For example, large suburban and country gardens. |
* The garden's square meters guide you to understanding the different garden size categories; an exact measurement is not required.
What Are We Looking For?
We recommend you take a picture (or a few) of the overall garden. You may want to include closer pictures of your garden to showcase any features you are particularly proud of. You must include at least one image of your garden to enter; we recommend up to 5 photos. If you have more than 5 photos to send, you will need to do this over WeTransfer, as our website cannot support this. As plant lovers, we love to see gardens of all kinds! There is an optional opportunity in the submission forms to add extra information on your garden, should you want to include any environmental efforts or personal endeavours that may help your application.
What's Up For Grabs?
The all-important part... What could you win? We will have first, second, and third place for both garden categories. We have organised it this way to allow all garden types to get their chance to shine.
1st Place £150 Mains of Drum Gift Card
2nd Place £100 Mains of Drum Gift Card
3rd Place £50 Mains of Drum Gift Card

Rake Off FAQ's
Ideally, we would like an overview of the garden. You can choose to submit just one photo or multiple, depending on what you want to showcase! Close-ups of particularly landscaped areas are always welcome, as this will give us a good idea of the garden.
If you wish to submit more than 10, you must do so via email. We recommend creating a link for this using WeTransfer and sending it to [email protected]
