Scottish Home Show

Julie Small Picturexs

We had over 800 people enter our competition on the stand to win a beautiful Weber Barbecue.  The draw was made after the Show and the lucky winner was Julie Small from Aberdeen.  Julie is a medical secretary at Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital and was delighted with her prize as she apparently never wins anything!  She came over to the garden centre this week to collect her prize with her daughter Phoebe who is 3 years old.

Everyone who entered the competition were given complimentary tea/coffee vouchers and we look forward to seeing you all at The Mains of Drum soon.

David Strathearn Fundraising Manager CHAS

The Mains of Drum donated a teddy bear to the Children’s Hospice Association stand at the Scottish Home Show.  They raffled this off over the weekend to raise money for their work in Scotland.

The Greats

The Mains of Drum Garden Centre are now officially the “Best Garden Centre Retailer of Gifts in
the UK”.  We were awarded the trophy at an official awards ceremony at the Lancaster Hotel in London on Thursday 17th May 2012.    The Greats Gift Retailer Awards recognises the tremendous contribution that retailers both small and large, make to the success of the gift industry and are established as the premier awards event of the year.

The Mains of Drum beat off the other finalists from Garden Centres in Nottingham, Essex, Droitwich & Great Shalford to take the prestigious award.

Audrey Forbes and Lynne Taylor from The Mains of Drum personally collected the award in London, and were extremely proud of the achievement of the whole team.

Craig Forbes, Manager at The Mains of Drum, said “Our aim is to make The Mains of Drum a superior shopping destination and this award confirms that our hard work is being recognised by the industry and our customers.  We are planning to expand our giftware section with our proposed extension plans and this will mean we can offer an even greater selection of the gifts our customers enjoy.  Although our gift range is now recognised as the best in the UK, we also pride ourselves on the superior level of customer service that goes with that, which means we have extremely loyal customers who return again and again”.
